Owner: Karl und Petra Obermeier
Location: Freudenberg, Oberpfalz
Products: Meat and sausage products from organic Angus grazing cattle
Size of the establishment: about 120 cattles
Philosophy:

“Natural and undisturbed development of our cattle is highly important to us. For this, a year-round pasture or free-range husbandry is essential, because this guarantees a particularly high quality meat. During the summer months our cattle are on the pasture round-the-clock, only in the winter months it is necessary to additionally feed our own and organically produced feed. Our cattle grow up together in a herd all year round, while the mother cows suckle their calf from birth until weaning at the age of 10 months."

The story:

The Obermeier family has been farming their farm since 1990, relying on the "German Angus" breed of cattle from the beginning. At the beginning of 1998, the Obermeier family finally switched completely to organic farming and has been committed to organic-biological farming ever since, which does not require any fertilizers or sprays and only allows feed to be purchased from organic farms. To close the circle of sustainable livestock farming, the conversion of the in-house slaughterhouse followed in 2008. Since then, the Obermeier family has been a certified EU slaughterhouse.
