“The ba.ro.co is modeled on coffee houses of major American cities, where they are popular for people meeting of different cultures, ages and professions. We want to bring this unique attitude to life and the atmosphere of US coffee culture to Germany. The ba.ro.co coffee house stands for enjoyment, passion and, of course, the love of coffee. Our wish is for our guests to feel at home with us, experiencing coffee in all its diversity.”
The idea for the Bavarian Roasting Company (ba.ro.co) was born in the summer of 2008. The model and inspiration came from two U.S. coffee houses in Salt Lake City, whose unique and pleasant atmosphere made a lasting impression on ba.ro.co founder Thomas Hoppe. There, it is not uncommon to see a surgeon in a green surgical coat sipping his coffee next to a retired musician during his lunch break, while at the next table a group of young people are poring over their homework with notebooks. With the founding of the Bavarian Roasting Company, such a modern combination of coffee roastery and coffeehouse came into being in downtown Amberg, where people of all kinds and ages come together.
