The history of Burgis stretches back over several generations to 1929, when Wolfgang Weiß, great-great-grandfather of today's Burgis management, took over a company for forest fruit preserves in Nabburg. This was followed in 1963 by the innovation that has accompanied Burgis to this day: The great-grandmother of today's company management, Theresia Raab, came up with the idea of producing semi-finished dumpling dough, which simplifies the time-consuming processing and preparation of raw potatoes into dumplings. Finally, since 1987, the focus of Burgis GmbH has been on regionality, because for more than 30 years now, Burgis has been working in partnership with 67 family farms from the region to produce the original Burgis dumplings from the best Bavarian potatoes.
