Location: Stockau, Upper Palatinate
Products: Products from organic goat's milk, kid meat, sausages, meat from Wagyu grazing cattle, from 2022 eggs from hens from the mobile barn.
Size of the establishment: 150 dairy goats (Bunte Deutsche Edelziege and Thüringer Waldziege), 20 cattle (Wagyu, Limousin, Angus), in spring 2022 100 laying hens will be added in the mobile barn.
"The focus of our farming methods is the welfare of our animals and soils, the future viability of our farm and our region in times of climate change. This also includes the production of healthy food that gives pleasure! Therefore, we have been farming biodynamically since 2018 and are Demeter certified since 2019. Cultivated on 30 ha of farmland are spelt, barley, rye, oats, triticale, field bean, clover grass, peas as well as, forage corn. In addition, 20ha of forest and 20ha of grassland are cultivated."
Sebastian Meier is a journeyman farmer and master brass instrument maker with his own workshop on the farm. He took over the farm from his parents Hans Meier and Eva Richter in 2012 and converted the dairy farm, which had been certified organic since 1992, to goats. Schirin Oeding has lived in Stockau since 2017. She grew up in Canada until her master's degree in agricultural sciences brought her to Germany. Since then, Schirin has enriched the jointly managed farm with her knowledge in the areas of processing and marketing from over 10 years of experience in agriculture.
