"We know each and every one of our dairy cows by name. This close bond allows us to respond individually to each animal. To ensure that the animals feel comfortable, we have adapted our housing system to their needs: The cows are free to decide in which part of the open outdoor climate barn with straw lying areas they want to stay or lie down at any given time. We process the milk of our cows in our own farm dairy in a particularly natural way to produce fresh milk, mixed milk drinks, natural yogurt, fruit yogurt, fresh cheese and ice cream. The farm's own processing of our milk closes the loop from growing our own feed to animal husbandry and milk production to the finished product."
The Zieglbauernhof in Ammelhofen near Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz has been owned by the Hollweck family since 1626 and has been farmed by them for generations. Owners Peter and Monika are very proud of this tradition. They would like to continue it and receive support from their children Elisabeth, Julia, Simon, Josef and Thomas as well as Peter's mother Rita. With the farm dairy, the family fulfilled a long-awaited dream, as now all production steps from the seed of the forage plant to the finished yogurt come from a single source. This guarantees full control and transparency, which is reflected in the unsurpassed quality of the finished products.
