For more than 100 years, our name has stood for the best quality. Our family business stands for craftsmanship with heart - and this in the fourth generation. Our customers can taste this in our sausage and ham specialties as well as in our catering service menus. Our top priorities are regionality and animal welfare: Our beef comes exclusively from animals raised on pasture in the region. We work closely with three small farms near Eschenbach, Flossenbürg and Weiden. Our venison also comes from the surrounding forests near Weiherhammer, Flossenbürg and Schnaittenbach. We are convinced that you can taste the high quality of the meat and the incomparable freshness.
The history of the family business began in 1906, when Wilhelm Scherm opened a small butcher's store next to an inn and guest rooms. In 1954, Georg Witt took over the property as the husband of grandma Gisela. As a master butcher, he brought a lot of knowledge and experience with him, reorganized the business and made expansions. Georg Witt handed over the business to the eldest of his four sons, Josef Witt, in 1996. Under the leadership of Josef and his wife Rita, much was invested in modernization and the business was expanded to include party service / catering. In 2003, son Christian followed in his family's footsteps as a butcher's apprentice and has additionally enriched the family business with his expertise as a chef ever since. This resulted in a stronger expansion of catering, which the family has now successfully operated for more than 30 years.
